Using The Tonality Of Your Voice To Covertly Hypnotize Someone
The mere tone or pitch of your voice has an influence on the people with whom you converse. By just altering the tonality of your voice at certain times during a conversation, you can effectively influence and give suggestions much like a hypnotist would do. Upswings are one common way that people normally alter the pitch of their voice. The other common change in tonality is known as the downswing. Using these upswings and downswings appropriately can give you the ability to alter your appearance. Just knowing how to use tonality changes in your voice can make all the difference when you are trying to secretly hypnotize someone.
The upswing is commonly used during a question. When someone asks a question they will usually raise their voice near the end of the statement. «Where ARE we?» «Do you have the TIME?» «How do I get to the STORE?» Notice how your voice will go up in tone when the capitalized words are spoken. Upswings usually have a negative effect on your appearance because they make it seem like you have no authority and no confidence. This agrees with why you would be asking the question in the first place; you question whatever it is that you are not confident about. Upswings also make your statements appear insincere. Just imagine trying to seriously tell someone, «You look GREAT,» raising your voice at the end. It does not come out very sincere. For these reasons upswings also tend to make you appear insecure and untrustworthy.
Downswings on the other hand make you appear confident, in control, commanding, genuine, and convincing. People normally use downswings when they talk about something that they really like, or something that they know a lot about. «You look GREAT,» sounds a lot better going down in tonality on the word «great.» «Two plus two is FOUR,» also sounds a lot better with a downswing on the four than an upswing. Downswings are often used to emphasize important points during a lecture, and you’ll often find them used when someone is ending a speech. Using downswings while you speak can make your words seem more convincing and really give you the appearance of being in control.
When you are trying to covertly hypnotize someone it is essential that they are able to trust you and believe that you are being genuine, thus the downswing is a must. When meeting a new person, however, questions with obvious upswings such as, «what is YOUR name?» are necessary for information. The solution is to either phrase the question so that the upswing comes at the beginning of the statement, or to ask a pseudo-question with a downswing. You can phrase the question a bit wordier, «I was WONDERING, what is your name?» Notice how the upswing comes near the beginning of the statement, and the actual question, «what is your name?» can all be said on a downswing. Another way of asking would be, «My name is Michael, and you are?» Saying it this way it is fairly easy to use a downswing on the «and you are?» while still getting the appropriate meaning across. A pseudo-question can be used for opinion questions and other statements where you will want to influence someone’s opinion. Instead of asking the question «Do you like this food?» make the statement «You like this food,» followed by, «don’t you?» When you ask the question «Do you like this food?» the person has the think about whether or not they really do like the food or not. The person thereby takes their attention off of the words that you are saying and concentrates on the taste of the food. By giving them the answer that you want to hear first, and only asking for their rhetorical agreement, «You like this food, don’t you?» the person has to do very little thinking. They already know what you expect them to say and they will often go along just because your downswings shows them that you are genuine. This one hypnosis technique alone will have even some of your toughest critics agreeing with you.
The tonality of your voice can make a huge difference when you are trying to secretly hypnotize someone. Upswings tend to distance you from others, while downswings build trust and confidence. Thus learning to use downswings in your questions and asking pseudo-questions are great ways to avoid the use of upswings. Being able to hypnotize someone will come easy when you have mastered the use of tonality in your speech.
